When I was first introduced to ruler work, I thought a new world in machine quilting had opened before me. I was right. Gone were the wavy lines as I stitched in the ditch on my quilts. No longer did I need to draw every quilting line. The ruler quilting world has exploded with rulers for every design quilters could need or imagine. I personally combine ruler work with free motion. Originally designed for long armers, rulers now are available for the domestic machine. A ruler foot is required for your machine and you must have experience in free motion quilting.

Color is Magic with Gloria Loughman
- Sep 17, 2024 10:00 am

A 'stress free' class where students have fun experimenting with colour and design. Participants will begin by studying and experimenting with some structured colour schemes. They will then move on to create a simple landscape quilt that features an unusual palette of fabrics. The emphasis will be on colour choice and value, using colours that may never have been seen before in nature but work harmoniously together for a stunning and different effect. There will be a choice of two patterns, so that the emphasis is on the colour selection and not drawing out a pattern.

Cost: $ 100.00
Create an abstract design while improving your machine embroidery and appliqu? skills. Choose stunning colour combinations and learn how to use 'easy to master' construction techniques. Move on to decorate the surface with a myriad of shapes, providing extra detail with your sewing machine. Based on the skills used to create 'Kimberley Mystique' the wall hangings produced in this workshop will definitely be 'one of a kind'.

Cost: $ 175.00
