Hello Ladies,
I hope you are all getting very excited for our Fall Quilt Retreat. I know that we are getting very excited and cannot wait to see you. I wanted to share with you some of the exciting classes, demos, and our special guest teacher that we will be hosting at the Retreat! For those of you attending the retreat, all of the classes/demos are free for you; however a couple of them will need patterns, etc. and kits will be available for purchase. We have a limited number of spaces available for each class, so please choose your class options wisely and as soon as possible! You do not need to sign up for lectures/demos as they are open for everyone and we have enough seating for everyone to watch.
If this is your first time at our retreat, please know that you do not need to sign up to any class or participate in the demos/lectures we host during our retreat. They are just added bonuses but not necessary for you to enjoy your weekend. You may come to the retreat to sew and just have fun with friends!
Our Special Guest Teacher/Lecturer is BERNINA Educator Adrienne Gallagher. She is coming down to visit us for 2 days, Wednesday, Oct 25th & Thursday, Oct 26th and will teach (Ruler Work with Amanda Murphy Rulers), host a trunk show of her favorite projects & Demo's on new Sewing/Quilting Techniques! See below for more information and how to sign up to her class!
Adrienne Gallagher's Bio:
Adrienne learned the art of sewing and needlework from her mother and her paternal grandmother. Candlewicking, Hardanger, needlepoint, and cross-stitch all gave way to machine sewing when she miraculously won a sewing machine during her second year of university. The arrival of her first child was celebrated with a handmade quilt from a friend. This began her enthusiasm for all types of quilting.
Adrienne’s background in the printing industry fueled her design aesthetic and love of text on everything. Eventually, she co-founded a custom quilt company and went on to develop her sewing passion (read stash) by working and teaching in quilt and sewing shops. Imagine her joy at discovering embroidery machines and their ability to stitch “fonts”.
Currently, Adrienne is the National Product Educator at BERNINA of Canada. As a 125-year-old family-run company, BERNINA allows Adrienne to look back on the historic sewing techniques she learned in childhood while experiencing arguably the most technologically advanced sewing machines on the planet. Each day she shares her love of sewing, embroidery, quilting, overlocking and design software with store owners and the public alike.
